Welcome to the Free Resource Center. There's lots of stuff here. If you wanted to keep yourself busy, just with this stuff, for the next couple years, you probably could.

If you sign up for one thing, and then decide later you want to sign up for something else too, it's easy to do: There's a link at the bottom of every email where you can change your preferences (add or delete subscriptions, change your email address, etc).

And don't forget, there's an unsubscribe link on the bottom of every email. If you subscribe to some things and then get bored later, feel free to use that link. Don't worry, you won't hurt anyone's feelings. 😉

Presentation Fundamentals

The fundamentals of giving a great presentation. There are 9 of them, and we present them here in 9 daily emails. They go out Monday through Friday.

Advanced Presentation Tips

Once a week, a specific presentation tip. Some have to do with how to tell a story in a business setting, some have to do with body language, etc.

Business idioms

This one's great for people who are already close to fluent, but want to sound more like native speakers, or are confused by some of the colloquialisms native speakers use.

Once or twice a week, we send you an American English idiom you'll hear often around the office. Each one comes with the definition, two examples, and an audio recording of Matt reading the definition and examples, so you can hear how a native speaker would use it.

Daily Language Habit

Why do native speakers sound so comfortable with the language? Because it's a daily habit for them. These daily lesson guides will help you get into that habit, too. The lessons are short, about 15 minutes each. Imagine that, only 15 minutes a day and you'll start feeling comfortable with the language!

PRO TIP: If you want to practice your two-way conversations with a native speaker, sign up for this one. Matt loves talking to people so much that he responds to pretty much every "Record Your Voice" recording (that one shows up twice a week here), which means sign up for this one, and you'll be practicing your two-way conversations.

Heathen Pilgrim chapters

One of Matt's books on Amazon. In 2012, Matt sold off or gave away almost everything he owned. He strapped whatever was left to his back, flew to Turkey, and walked across it. Every foot, from one end of the country to the other. Along the way he slept in mosque gardens, dined with strangers, and stumbled into refugee camps. This is the story of that journey.

We send it out chapter by chapter, two or three chapters a week, for about six months. If you want to read it all at one time, you can find it on Amazon too.

A Tight Wide-open Space chapters

One of Matt's books on Amazon. In 2003, Matt moved to Turkey for the first time. He figured adjusting to life there would entail some challenges, and he certainly wasn't disappointed. This is the story of what happened there.

We send it out chapter by chapter, two chapters a week, for about three months. If you want to read it all at one time, you can find it on Amazon too.

Soapbox chapters

One of Matt's books on Amazon. Memories of best friends. Unexpected gifts from grandpas. Recurring nightmares starring college advisors.

We send it out chapter by chapter, two chapters a week, for about three months. If you want to read it all at one time, you can find it on Amazon too.
